periodic Northwoods Mall Craft Shows.

My love of coffee started at a very young age. I remember my first cup covered in whipped cream on a roundtrip flight from
Peoria International Airport to Dulles International in the early 1970's.
I still remember when I tried Sumatra for the first time.
I wandered into a small coffee roasting house in the Sunset District of San Francisco, in 1999.
I had never heard of Sumatra Coffee before and I had no idea that people could roast their own beans.
It was the best cup of coffee, I had ever had.
It changed my life!
When you buy from a local artist, you are helping support that artist and their family, as well as the local economy.

I began roasting after attending the Specialty Coffee Association of America Conference in Long Beach,
California in 2007. My family opened our first business, Stucco House Coffee Roasters in Murphy
North Carolina, in September of that year. It was there, where I cultivated my craft.
After fighting through the recession for 5 years, Johnny and I moved back to my hometown,
Peoria, Illinois in late 2012. I have one son, Johnathon, whom I adore. I am his biggest fan, and he mine.
